HEY KYOTO

I'm Wearing: ASOS denim jacket with customised pockets, Dr Denim jeans WEGO beanie, DIY fur bag and Nikes

Day trip to Kyoto!

Day 4: After waking up far too early to catch a 2 1/2 hour train to Kyoto we arrived at our first destination of the day…Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine. The Shrine is famous for it’s thousands of vermilion torii gates that create a path up a mountain. After exploring as much as our bodies could handle we got back onto a train and headed to Nijo Castle! It’s at this moment that I should mention the weather was very cold and rainy. The castle grounds are huge and their filled with pretty gardens and far too many puddles. It was so cold and miserable so we didn’t stay for long. After we desperately ate Mcdonald’s for lunch we headed to Kiyomizu-dera Temple! This is my favourite place in Kyoto, the main street leading up to Kiyomizu-dera is flooded with tourists and locals shopping in all the little shops. Then once you get to the temple and look back at the street you get a fabulous view of Kyoto!

To finish the day we walked through Kyoto to the Ninja restaurant which is basically a very cheap buffet and you eat as much as you can for 90 minutes. It goes without saying I had a real good time eating too much food. After self diagnosing myself with a food coma we headed back to Shinjuku.

Love Alex
